Verdane employee identified as main player in insider network

The suspects in Norway received more than SEK 10m (EUR 868,000) in profits from insider trading. A Verdane employee reportedly explained to the police that he was in a tight financial situation.

13 Norwegians and 12 Swedes were arrested last week and charged with illegal insider trading. Among the accused are two employees of the Norwegian private equity manager Verdane, which manages companies with a value of around NOK 75bn (EUR 6.6bn).
